It’s quite simple to work your way round the exhibition, as it is organised with small sections devoted to each individual work that was published (books). I recommend this because it has a map on the inside and rear cover to help show you round. This is free, and they have ones in different languages. There was hand sanitizer on the entrance, and I recommend that you pick up a small guidebook from inside the exhibition before you start having a look around. I spent no more than 90s minutes looking around. The museum is done up really well inside, although it’s not big. I didn't do a lot of research before I visited, which meant the visit exceeded my expectations. I grew up watching some of the animated Moomin episodes during the 90s, which captured my interest and thought I'd make a visit - it certainly jogged quite a few memories of characters and places I had completely forgotten about.

I also like the friendship Clay and Gigi struck up and that's what he needed to help him through his rough patch. can't wait for Savannahs book so we can get more of the glimpses of the gang. Clay definitely has that Maxwell trait when it comes to their ladies. He loved his woman, defended his woman and stopped at nothing to make her happy. Seeing his love for Andrea made my heart swell. This was a tough time for both of them and I'm glad Clay stepped up and became the man I knew he could be. Clay getting the closure he needed was heart warming.Īndrea and Clay where do I begin? These two for the last 10 years have an agreement that works for them but some thing happens and everything changes. My heart ached for Clay because he just wanted and needed his father's love and approval which is something we all want from our parents. He put all this pressure on himself just to get out of Brady's shadow. Growing up as Brady Maxwell's younger brother definitely made him feel like he wasn't good enough or smart enough. This book had the Clay that we are used to seeing in the prior books but we also get another side of Clay. We first met Clay in Off The Record, I couldn't help but be intrigued by him and I was so excited when I found out he was getting his own book. And hence, the traditional art of wet shaving - the use of shaving creams, brushes, and initial wrapping of the face, was born. But it was the Egyptians, forced to shave under the orders of Alexander the Great, who put into practice the use of oils as shaving cream. The Romans were known to apply pumice stones and oils to their skin after a shave, while treating any nicks with ointment. This approach slowly advanced, and men began using makeshift razors from flakes of obsidian or shells. This newfound desire for innovation targeted the daily routines of many Americans - including the way that men groomed.Īs far back as 100,000 years ago, based on cave painting depictions, it is believed that men would pull out their facial hair using seashells as rudimentary tweezers. Seeking relief from the horrors of the Great War, people began searching for ways to make their lives easier and more enjoyable. Prohibition ironically ignited an insatiable demand for alcohol, and innovations in all aspects of life were on the rise. Men and women were suddenly clumped together in raucous and loose social gatherings. Behind almost every great success story lies an inspiring tale of struggle, ambition and ingenuity - and in the case of the Burma-Shave Company, it also included an ingenious advertising and marketing concept that defined the Burma-Shave cream as one of the most popular brushless shaving creams in the United States. |
